A message from the State Manager AMEB (NSW)

Dear teachers, candidates and parents,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent Government advice during March and April, the First Metropolitan exam session was cancelled and refunds issued.

To comply with official advice from health authorities NSW Health and the Australian Government Department of Health in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19), it is likely that the opportunity for face-to-face exams will be limited in the coming months due to social distancing restrictions. As AMEB (NSW) may only be able to deliver a fraction of the face-to-face exams that we normally offer in the second half of the year, please note that we may have to give priority to candidates presenting at the Diploma level, Certificate of Performance and Grade 8.

As a result, we will be offering Video Repertoire exams in the second half of the year, with enrolments opening on 1 June and closing on 5 October 2020. The candidates have up to 21 days (from the date of the enrolment) to submit their video repertoire exam link. All candidates preparing for Preliminary through to Grade 8 should consider the option of a Video Repertoire exam between June and October as this will be a guaranteed examination goal to work towards in 2020.

Please read the Q&As for more details about the necessary changes to AMEB exams this year.

We thank you for adapting to the challenges this teaching and examination year has brought for all of us and we appreciate your understanding as we work to provide as many exam opportunities for your students as possible.

Kind regards,

Maree Lucas,
NSW State Manager
